Proper "Website performance" is often misunderstood. In fact, many Website "designers" neglect the four critical facts of their end users.
When constructing a Website you must realize that the Website visitor:
- Skims pages for clues, instead of reading.
- Makes snap decisions, instead of evaluating and judging carefully.
- Often doesn't look at the complete picture, and
- MOST IMPORTANTLY, they are driven by their goals, not ours.
To "Perform", every Website you get from Webcentric Communications:
- Provides "call-to-action". This means that your visitors are often prompted to contact you.
- Is clearly coordinated with all other "touchpoints" in your marketing, advertising and public relations.
- Has a clear message for the visitor, in a structured, positive flow.
Just because a Website looks "pretty", doesn't mean it performs.
Many realize, after spending thousands of dollars, that their Website looks good, but doesn't do anything; it doesn't perform. And, when they try to update the Website, the bills are staggering; $100 for a minor change; $2,000 to add functionality; the list goes on.
When Webcentric Communications takes on a Website development or re-development project, we move forward with the idea that our clients must be given the tools to update their Website themselves, when they need to, at no additional cost.
Your Website is a critical component in your communications campaign. Therefore, it must provide a positive "touchpoint" to your public and interact with them until they take action to communicate with you. You must also be careful that they don't make an incorrect judgment about you.
The truth is, visitors to your website will make a judgment. Your Website's job, like all of your communications, is to ensure that the judgment made will be positive. This means your Website must "perform."
